Dr Lauren Tober is an experienced Clinical Psychologist, Life Coach and Senior Yoga Teacher. She is the founder of the Centre for Mind Body Wellness.
In the counselling room and on the yoga mat, Lauren integrates the best of yogic wisdom and contemporary psychology.
Lauren offers counselling, coaching and iRest Yoga Nidra. She also offers a range of online programs (see below for details).
Lauren specialises in working with adults experiencing depression (including pre and postnatal), anxiety, stress, overwhelm, chronic illness and high sensitivity.
In counselling sessions, Lauren aims to create a safe and inspiring space to explore what is going on for you. Her focus is not just on helping you to overcome the difficulties that you are facing, but also to support you in living vibrantly, meaningfully and passionately. She believes in living a life that is authentic, compassionate, mindful, wholehearted and joyful, and she carries this through into her work.
Committed to ongoing learning, Lauren draws from the traditions of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy and yoga therapy (including iRest yoga nidra™). She has trained extensively in all of these areas.
Lauren sees her role as helping you find your way in overcoming obstacles and creating the kind of life you want to lead. She won’t tell you what to do or make your decisions for you. She will listen, non-judgementally and compassionately, and support you on your journey.
COST: $180 per 50 minute session. With a Mental Health Care Plan a referral from your GP or Psychiatrist, Medicare offers a rebate of $124.50 per session for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year.

iRest Yoga Nidra
Based on the ancient teachings of meditation, iRest yoga nidra is an evidence-based mind-body transformative practice that leads to psychological, physical, and spiritual healing and well-being.
The practice is integrative as it heals the various unresolved issues and traumas that are present in your body and mind, and restorative as it enables you to recognize your innate peace of mind that is always present amidst all changing circumstances of life.
iRest provides you with tools to help you relax deeply, release stress, increase resiliency, improve your interpersonal relationships and provide you with greater mastery and control in your life.
Lauren teaches regular iRest Yoga Nidra courses and integrates iRest Yoga Nidra into counselling and coaching sessions.
COST: $290 for a 6 week course, plus course materials (manual and six mp3 meditations recorded in class). Medicare rebate is $189.90 with a mental health care plan and a referral from your GP.

A Daily Dose of Bliss is a delightful six week course for emotion regulation. Learn simple yogic practices each day to feel calm, balanced, grounded, energised and blissful. It takes just 5 – 10 minutes each day. Living Your Heartfelt Desires is a self paced online course to let go of what is no longer serving you, get clear on what you want your life to be about and take clear steps to bring this into reality.
Meditation, Pure + Simple is a 6 week iRest Yoga Nidra online course, similar to the course she teaches at the Centre for Mind Body Wellness. The online format is perfect for people who don’t live locally, or who can’t commit to attending the classes on a regular basis.
